The University of Pennsylvania Working Papers in Linguistics (PWPL) are published by the Penn Linguistics Club, the organization of graduate students in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania. We began online publication with volume 13.2 (2007) and are now a free-access online publication only. Volumes through 14.1 (2008) are available in printed form and can be ordered (see ordering instructions below). Our ISSN number is 1524-9549.
PWPL publishes two volumes per year:
- Proceedings of the annual Penn Linguistics Colloquium (PLC) conference
- Selected Papers from the New Ways of Analyzing Variation (NWAV) conference
In addition, we have published an occasional volume of working papers written by students and faculty in the department.
All copyright remains with the authors of the individual papers.

Ordering Print Volumes
Back-issue printed volumes (volumes 1 through 14.1) can be ordered from the Penn Linguistics Club. All orders must be pre-paid. Volumes 13.2 and 14.1 are available both in-print and online with free access.
All volumes cost $15 U.S. (Authors can buy a volume at $8 for their first copy). There is currently no charge for shipping. We accept check or money order (U.S. dollars) only. Please make the check or money order out to "Penn Linguistics Club".

Submitting Articles for Publication
Papers for Conference volumes are solicited in conjunction with a conference, as appropriate. Local Working Papers volumes are published on an occasional basis. No open call for papers is currently issued.
Author Agreement: By submitting your paper to PWPL, you agree to the terms contained in our Author Agreement. We now publish as a free-access journal online.
Submission style: Once a paper is accepted for inclusion in a PWPL volume, authors must submit it according to the PWPL submission guidelines.
