About the PWPL

The University of Pennsylvania Working Papers in Linguistics (PWPL) are published by the Penn Linguistics Club, the organization of linguistics graduate students at the University of Pennsylvania.

The series includes papers from conferences as well as volumes of working papers by linguists affiliated with the Penn Linguistics Department. Submissions to the latter are peer-reviewed and extensively commented on before being accepted for publication. Since we wish to serve as a forum for works in progress, this process is not intended to eliminate but to improve papers prior to inclusion in a volume.

The PWPL editorial board currently consists of the following people: Daniel Johnson, Elsi Kaiser, Ian Ross, Tara Sanchez and Alexander Williams.

All copyright remains with the authors of the individual papers.

    Submitting to the Working Papers

Local Working Papers volumes are published on an occasional (approximately annual) basis. Calls for Papers are posted to the penguists mailing list.

The deadline for submission of papers to be included in the next volume of local work (7.3) is 28 November 2000. (You may review the submission guidelines for our last Call For Papers).

Papers for Conference volumes are solicited in conjunction with a conference, as appropriate. No open call for papers is issued.

Submision style: Once a paper is accepted for inclusion in a PWPL volume, authors must submit it in camera-ready form according to the PWPL style sheet and sample document (pdf sample document provided here). The PWPL style sheet is frequently revised between volumes; please make sure to base your submission on a current version.

We now provide a LaTeX style file, PWPL.sty. Please use it if you will be submitting a LaTeX document. If you need a style for example sentences, we recommend (but do not require) gbpenn.sty, a hacked version of gb4e.sty that indents according to our style.
